There are those who have fallen into a coma, never to awaken as they go to bed at night. Everyone appeared to be reluctant to talk about it for fear that it would only make it worse; that speaking its name would call it to you and eat your soul while you slept like it had done to many others. The inhabitants of Hogsmeade are in terrible danger, as the nightmares are a symptom of having their memories stolen by the Nybbas, a notorious evil spirit that has been asleep for nearly ten centuries. The only commentary any residents had to say was: "Get out." The Nybbas, or sometimes referred to as Nightmares or Blights, have awoken. Adults and children alike go to their beds to sleep and do not wake up. The Nybbas are too weak to attack a waking person, so they assault them in their sleep, whispering insidious words into the ears of their victims, causing nightmares and disturbed sleep. They seek to shatter the minds of people and create discord among them. Many lunatics are thought to be victims of the Nybbas, men whose pysche's were too weak to handle the the Nybbas malicious whispering. The victims all have one thing in common- they all have the same reoccurring dream one week prior to the attack. They awake in the middle of the night. The room had a strange greenish glow, and the room felt very "dreamy". They are frozen and cannot move, not even a finger, but they can see and turn their eyes. They see a creature that can move so fast it becomes a blur, a creature pale and white with no face. It then walked up to their bed, leaned over them, and made a sort of hissing noise. Each victim can turn their head away from it, and in the corner of their eye they saw its tongue come out and felt it lick their face. The creature then vanishes and they appear to wake up, as if they were asleep the entire time. It is thought that the day that the victim does not wake up, is the day the Nybbas ate them in their dream. Their souls are kept captive in the creature's belly, and thus cannot wake up. The creature does not have a physical form, and must be defeated in the dream, in which case the souls will be released and all of the sleeping victims will awaken. If the Nybbas is not taken care of, then it is inevitable before one by one all of the inhabitants of Hogsmeade are consumed and the creature will become a threat to Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. There is no word yet from the Headmaster of the school that express his thoughts on the matter or what he plans to do about it. In the mean time, one anonymous inhabitant of Hogsmeade has sent out a flier asking anyone to help. What brave soul is out there that would dare stand to bait himself for the Nybbas and attempt to destroy him? [/style] |
