Lori had been riddled with many tasks from the Gaunt family. It was for these tasks for which she was not allowed to return home and needed to stay at the school over the winter vacation. Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry had plenty of resources. This fact was indisputable. The trouble for a student such as Lorelai was getting her hands on these resources.
However, here she was, in the library and after school hours. It was close to midnight and she only hoped that a professor wouldn't be able to catch her. She went through the sections of books and continued looking for this specific book which could be of help to her. She scaled up the bookcase, looking at the titles of books.
"Why does this have to be so bloody difficult?" she asked herself and Patty as well. She carefully began to climb down the shelf until she was back on the ground.
"I'm about to give up," Lori said, though she knew she could never do this.

Patrick served as accomplice to Lorelai's night-time jaunt once more. He had no idea what it was they were looking for, and wasn't entirely sure he even wanted to know. For now he had contented himself with playing lookout. He stood at the foot of the bookcase, glancing around nervously. And when Lori began to scale the bookcase, Patty thought it was a good time to go and check the hallway outside, so as to avoid the temptation of peeking up the girl's skirt. Dammit, why did he have to be such a gentleman?
After ensuring that the coast was indeed still clear, he tapped his wand against the door, and listened as the lock clicked into place. He returned to the shelf Lorelai had been climbing just in time to see her descending back to the floor, complaining at how difficult it was, and how she was beginning to concede defeat. Patrick approached her, and gave her a loving hug. "Well, winter break is just starting, you have plenty of time. It'd be silly to give up so soon. What are you looking for anyway?"

Lori crossed her arms and took a number of quick steps toward Patrick. Each step was an irritated stride. And once she had approached him, rather than stopping, she circled around him like a shark. This was not to intimidate him, however she simply could not stop herself from pacing. She knew how upset her father would be if she wasn't able to find the book.
"You don't understand, Patty. If I don't find the book, father is going to be very upset," Lori groaned. It was the truth. How her father was certain that the book was in Hogwarts, she didn't know. However, he believed it to be the case, so it had to be true. He would simply think she hadn't been looking hard enough. However, in all of her frustration, Lori had forgotten to even answer Patrick's question.
