Alistar sat in the chair by his desk, reading intently a book that most had forgotten about. Still, there was lost of useful information in it that could still be used today. Olde and Forgotten Bewitchments and Charmes was a very interesting read. Some of the things in it he had never heard of but was quickly learning about. He would find good use for the stuff in it, one day.
It was that time that the professors of the school would hold a meeting. Most of the things were a little boring to him and didn't provide him much interest in it. When it came to the Board of Governors, when he use to work for them, he enjoyed it. There were a lot of things that he could turn into his favor, but these people he had yet to get a good reading on. Nor did he care to much to do so.
For now, he would wait for them to come. Have their little discussion and go their ways. Maybe this time they would bring something good to the table. That was something that he could only hope for. He still needed to get back to his planning for the changes that were still being discussed that could get implemented.

Professor Avery entered into the headmaster's office. It hadn't been so long since she was last here, but it sure felt like it had been. Especially since she and the headmaster were still somewhat of an item. Of course, the other professors didn't know that. Or at least Arianna hadn't told any of them. Perhaps Alistar had though. Regardless, it really didn't matter so much.
Arianna entered into the room. She hated that it wasn't possible to apparate within the castle outside of the Great Hall. It kind of sucked having to walk everywhere, but perhaps it was for the best. Arianna stood before the Professors desk. She pulled out her wand and waved it in the air. Only a moment or so later, a chair was summoned from the opposite side of the room to right behind her. She sat down.
"Good morning, love."

Looked up as he heard footsteps coming up the stairs leading to his office. He was curious as to who it was, the first to the party always had the drop on anyone who approached. This why a smile appeared on his face as he saw the apple of his eye come in. He looked upon her as she pulled a lonely chair out of hiding for her to sit on.
"You know, if you had asked I would of pulled out the chair for you." Getting up from his desk, leaving the book open on it as he walked over to her. Placing a hand on her chin, he would lean down and kiss her. "Still so sweet." He said looking into her eyes after the short kiss, with a seductive grin on his face. Then moving to stand full up and lean against his desk.

The kiss was soft, short, and sweet. It had lasted for only a transitory moment, but that was to be expected. They didn't want to do anything that would seem unprofessional to the other professors, of course. This didn't mean that the other professors couldn't find out. It only meant that while on the clock, they needed to be working... not loving.
"Of course," Arianna agreed with him. She was somewhat surprised that she was the first of the professors in his office. Today she hadn't made an extra effort to get to his office first, and yet here she was. She was known for punctuality, so maybe it had just become a habit to get there early even when she meant to be just on time.
"The other professors should be on their way," she attested.

Out of all the work he had ever done, he just never could bring himself to be early to a faculty meeting.
Thomas was doing fairly well though; at least now he was walking in the general direction of the headmaster's office. That was a start considering all the times he had been late before. Besides, prolonging his arrival would not erase the meeting, and it probably would not even be that bad - faculty meetings were not anything Thomas couldn't handle. It was just a matter of whether or not he wanted to be responsible or not.
Oh, but he wasn't a boy anymore. He wished he was. The professor sometimes wondered if the students realized how lucky they were and that they should always take advantage of having fun while they can. He smiled to himself as he thought about this. Such a middle-aged bore he was becoming! Thomas remembered when he first had arrived at Hogwarts, the pranks and games he had participated in. Good times.
Reaching the headmaster's office (he suddenly wished he had in fact taken the longer way), he paused in front of the gargoyle. Recognizing the professor, it's face immediately became one of animation, a snarl erupting from the stone creature before the sculpture rotated, revealing a circular staircase. Thomas then proceeded up the steps, wondering if any of the other professors had already arrived. As he reached the top level, he heard the faint sound of voices - well, one was there already.
Entering the office, Thomas immediately spotted Lestrange and Avery - not that he was surprised. Avery appeared to have quickly become a favorite of Lestrange's. Thomas figured a lot of it probably had to do with her teaching of the Dark Arts; Alistar seemed pretty set on incorporating that more thoroughly, though personally Thomas thought it was unecessary. He already was educating the students on the Dark Arts - why did they need another course on it?
"Morning, Lestrange," He said with nod, "Avery. Glad to know I'm not the last one to arrive this time." With that, he too pulled out his wand, summoning a seat.

Llywelyn stood hunched over his trunk. He had been given quarters in an old unused classroom on the fourth floor, and it was here that he was setting up shop, as it were. From the trunk he had pulled several muggle artifacts, everything from ballpoint writing pens to model rockets and toy guns, soccer balls, model skyscrapers, and even a broken down VHS player. He sighed, looking at the mess of random items. He knew he should have been more careful with his packing, it would take him hours to sort through all of this junk. And he certainly didn't have time for it now, with the faculty meeting that night. This would be his first time meeting his new co-workers, and likely the only time they'd all gather before the start of term in January. And with the attitude of the school shifting towards a more anti-muggle stance, it was rather important that he make a good first impression, and not show up late. So, tossing aside a stack of old polaroid photographs, Llywelyn straightened up and left the small office, heading to the headmaster's study.
A few moments later he knocked and entered, pleased to see he was not the first, nor the last, to arrive. With a curt nod to the others, he walk into the room. Unlike the other professors, however, he did not draw his wand to call forth a seat. Instead, he chose an inconspicuous spot in the room, and simply stood there without a word, waiting at attention for the other professors to arrive.

Greengrass awoke to a throbbing headache, serves her right for having a little too much fun the night before. She looked out the window and into the sky. Oversleeping was a bad habit, but this time she overslept way too late. And wasn't there supposed to be a meeting of sorts for the Professors? Oh, shit.
Florence put on the robes that were closest to her, simple and black.... and inside out. But she didn't really care. She'd fix it later. Florence may look young in appearance but she felt ancient on the inside. Still, she thanked her genes which blessed her with her amazingly good looks when hastily brushing her hair while looking in the mirror and walked out.
She entered the room in a rather loud and careless fashion, tripping on her own two feet in her haste. She cursed under her breath, embarrassed. Her usual grace had left her and was replaced with a terribly ungraceful hangover. She walked up and paused before everyone else. "Sorry I am late." Her voice was raspier than she had anticipated.
Then she stood to the side next to Professor Aneirin.

Professor Avery rolled her eyes following Professor Greengrass' entrance. Of course she had to be the most obnoxious about her entrance, and she wasn't even late. Couldn't she just take a seat after arrival like a normal person? No, because she had to be the center of attention. That was the only reason why she wouldn't.
"Good evening, Professor Greengrass," Professor Avery said with a warm yet misleading smile. Her focus on Professor Greengrass ended in only moments as she turned her attention back to Professor Lestrange.

Alistars attention was soon drawn away as other members of the staff entered in. Soon wouldn't be long til they all would be in there. Yet, seemed that a few were going to take their time. He let out a soft sigh as they would most likely have to wait til the others came in. Honestly, he wouldn't wait that long for them, it was unprofessional as it was to not come when asked of the head of the school.
"Good day Professor Brown, Aneirin, and Greengrass. Good to see you all well." He had to make sure that he had them on his side for the future. Even if he still detested a few, he couldn't show his true colors just yet. Hopefully he could be rid of a few in the near future, that he could only hope for though.

The one who came after him...who was he? Thomas tried to think back - oh, he was one of the new professors. He remembered that a new professor for Muggle Studies had come to Hogwarts, but until now Thomas had not met nor seen the man before. He expected the professor to bid a 'good morning' or some other articlation of a greeting; Thomas felt a mixture of subtle surprise and mild disappoint to only receive a nod of acknowledgement, the new professor simply standing in the back, not bothering to take a seat.
A raspy apology was suddenly spoken, and Thomas found himself turning to face none other than a very dismayed and flushed Florence Greengrass, nearly tripping onto the floor. He fought the urge to smirk - no - laugh, but then he tried to remind himself that they were about to start a meeting and it may not have been the best time to point out that Florence's robes were inside-out. Also, Thomas was interested to find out if she would even realize it - or if she had already noticed and simply did not care.
Either way, he had already caught Arianna rolling her eyes out of the corner of his periphreal vision. Yes, it was probably better he turned his attention elsewhere.
As Lestrange acknowledged those who arrived, Thomas found himself looking at the headmaster. As of now, he felt Alistar was an...interesting man, to say in the least. However, there was a part of Thomas that could not help but feel his skin crawl at times. He was not sure what it was; it was a sort of je ne sais quoi that was not necessairily a good kind. There were days when Brown felt Lestrange was fairly pleasant, and at the very lead cordial.
There were just times where Thomas could feel the hairs practically raise on his back.
Thomas glanced over at a nearby clock. The meeting was already supposed to have started, was it not? He did not want to be hypocritical, as he had been late before, but at the same time he was curious as to what the content of the meeting was to be focused. After another moment or two passed, he cleared his throat. "I'm probably the last individual to be suggesting this, but we should probably begin soon," the professor suggested. He then looked over at Alistar. Down to business. "What was it you wanted to cover actually?"
